HYBRID is a great opportunity to collaborate with early stage and senior researches in the medical imaging field. It is also known that collaboration leads to better and faster discoveries.

Marie Duc, MSc

Marie is currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Sciences and Medicine within the Werner Siemens Imagine Center (WSIC) at the University of Tübingen in Germany. The goal of her research is to develop advanced machine learning algorithms for analyzing large scale histopathology data from oncology. The developed techniques will automate the quantification of relevant phenotypic features within the histology images, subsequently assisting the pathologists in identifying corner cases and reducing misdiagnoses.

Previously, Marie studied Bioengineering and Biocomputing at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Her studies were based at the intersection of technology and medical applications. She finished her studies by doing her thesis at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard in the Imaging Platform. There, her research was focused on the optimization of a pipeline to discover new potential drugs from cancer cells images.
