HYBRID brings together young researchers and senior fellows from various disciplines to unleash the full potential of different imaging modalities combined.

Marcus Bronzel, PhD

Marcus Bronzel is currently director of the Image Core Lab at ABX-CRO. He graduated in physics at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen in 1989 and obtained his PhD in 1993. After 2 years post-doc at Virginia Tech where he applied multi-dimensional adaptive signal processing to control noise and vibration of sound fields and structures, he joined the Mobile Communications Systems chair at TU Dresden where he lead a research group working on smart antennas and array processing for communications systems. In 2005 he joined a start-up company to develop physical layer firmware on array processors. Since 2009 he is working at ABX-CRO and established an Image Core Lab for processing and analysis of medical image data in clinical trials. He participated in numerous multi-centric clinical imaging trials worldwide where standardisation of image acquisition is crucial for all modalities involved, in particular for quantitative imaging.
