Rigshospitalet (REGIONH)
The Department of Clinical Physiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET employs a staff of 170 professionals as well as 25 master and ph.d. students. We are committed to achieving optimal patient investigation and to carry out research at the highest international level. Within the frame of a yearly budget of 12 mill € and external research funding of 8 mill €/year we perform 60,000 patients investigations/year and publish more than 130 peer reviewed publications. Rigshospitalet (REGIONH) is a highly specialised hospital, organised under the Capital Region of Denmark. With a few exceptions, REGIONH covers all medical specialist areas and employs about 10,000 full-time employees, and has about 1,200 beds. REGIONH supervises around 250 PhD students a year. PhD programmes are conducted in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, and the University is responsible for final evaluation and award of the PhD degree. With over 40,000 students the University of Copenhagen (UoC) is one of the largest institutions of research and education in the Nordic countries. UoC is a member of IARU (International Alliance of Research Universities). It is number 68 on the 2016 list of the world's best universities published by QS World University Rankings, and thus the highest ranked Nordic university. UoC is ranked number 6 in Europe (number 1 in Continental Europe) and number 30 in the world according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2016 published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
