HYBRID fellow Nicolò Capobianco wins poster award at SNMMI2020

Nicolò Capobianco won a poster award at the SNMMI 2020 Annual Meeting – Virtual Edition that took place from 11 to 14 July. His poster ‘Transfer learning of AI-based uptake classification from 18F-FDG PET/CT to 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for whole-body tumor burden assessment’ was one of the 10 highest ranked posters in the category ‘Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences’. In total, 94 abstracts were accepted as posters in this category.

This year’s meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging was implemented as a virtual event. Nicolò enjoyed the virtual meeting: “This was the first virtual conference I attended. As I delved into the online content, the nostalgia of in-person events rapidly gave way to a vibrant showcase of innovative research and ideas that filled me with excitement about the latest progress and future perspectives of the nuclear medicine field.”

Our fellow David Wallis also participated in the SNMMI. He presented his work entitled ‘Automated detection of mediastinal cancer nodes from 18FDG-PET/CT scans of NSCLC patients using radiomic and CNN features’.
